What to expect

Snorkel with the world's biggest fish in the South Ari Marine Protected Area. South Ari is one of the few places on earth where whale sharks are found all year, and Dhangethi is a short boat ride from where they're seen.

The boat runs along the outer reef while everyone keeps watch. When a shark is spotted, you slip into the water and swim alongside it, keeping a respectful distance.

  • Snorkelling only, no scuba
  • You'll be in open water, so you need to be comfortable swimming
  • Sightings are likely, but they're wild animals and never promised
